Whenever fire protection measures are requested by the operator or their insurer, Keller Lufttechnik always conforms to VDI guideline 2263-6 which specificially applies to dust extraction systems. Since there is no mandatory regulation regarding fire protection measures, the responsibility for fire protection lies with the operator. The applicable measures
can be determined in a hazard assessment according to the German Industrial Safety Regulation (BetrSichV).
Keller Lufttechnik can only suggest fire protection measures, but they are not mandatory for the operator.
Flame barrier ProBox: Blocking flames from spreading from the machine tool In the event of a fire
In the event of a fire, the ProBox ensures that flames from the machine tool are blocked from spreading throughout the ductwork. In addition, the flame barrier is equipped with a chip pre-separation device that ensures that no chips can enter the flame barrier / extraction system. This device improves the large air flow of the machine with a large detection surface, and coolants are pre-separated.
Optimized and safe machinery extraction
ProBox prevents the transfer of flames and the entry of ignition sources into the extraction system / centralized systems to other machinery (for processes using oil).
